Matt Edwards and Sam Collis will rejoin the BTRDA 1400 foray this weekend on the Quinton Stages Rally based in Llandovery, as ‘The Swift Group’ supported duo aim to continue their impressive run of recent form.

Fresh from a BTRDA 1400 category win on the Dukeries and Edwards’ first outright event win on the Mid Wales Stages just a week later, this next event is critical in their bid for the BTRDA 1400 Series title, as the 586 Sport MG crew currently tie on points with Darren Pinchen, 5 identical scores each with just three rounds to go.

Edwards however will perhaps feel slightly more confident heading into the latter part of the year, with familiarity with the MG ZR growing by event and also moving into territory he and Collis have some prior experience of; Edwards achieving his first ‘top ten’ overall finish on this event in 2008 aboard a Geoff Jones Motorsport Subaru Impreza.

“I am feeling more and more comfortable with the car as each event passes, and with the analysis of data and footage after every event, we are able to pick up bits and pieces to help find more pace” explained the Fuchs, Tradeaways and EvoParts.org supported driver.

“This event is key to the outcome of the year and theres no doubting it will be a hard fight, but I enjoy the stages down here a lot so we will just go out with the same perspective as always and do our best!”, he added.

The Quinton Rally starts from Llandovery on Saturday morning and takes in stages as used on the UK’s World Rally Championship event, on this occasion even replicating an exact stage as tackled by the worlds best; a challenging 11.4 mile test to open the event with.
